I'm doing another panel. This time it is for Bob's C-172. Oops the right side is not oriented correctly. Oh well, this was just to show that Bob created this template for reference.
I traced the template onto this paper because I thought Bob needed the template.
The most time consuming part is modeling. I would say it took me about 2.5 hrs. (and I think I'm pretty fast), .5 for programming, 10 minutes for laser. I think I could get the whole process done in under 2 hrs. I was considering scanning the template and mapping it to the model surface which works really well but I decide to just measure it.
I cut the first run out of cardboard just to check my geometry. Good thing, it's totally off, I think the combination between an inaccurate tracing and measuring with a ruler this was to be expected. No big deal, I just measure the differences and plug in the corrections.
I thought this shot was cool. One with flash and one without.
