Ran FEA on HS-814 double countersink mistake, looks like there is no problem. Van's didn't recommend either way, they just said that if I am worried I shouldreplace it, I don't want to replace it if there is no safety issue. Went to class and inspected the J85 some more, I think I can get it running.
Forward view, this is how it should look with no mistake. It looks as if there are some stress concentrations at the holes which might mean that my mistake could actually be an improvement. I know too little at this point. The analysis has the side fixed and 200 lbs all along the top. This is just a random number just to see the difference between mistake and no mistake. The bottom two pictures on this page are replications of my mistake. There doesn't seem to be a significant reduction in strength to the best of my knowledge.
