Spoke with Van's tech support and asked about etching, alodining, priming. Ken said he does none of that, he only primes the spars that are hanging below. I found this relieving because my slow progress has been driving me crazy. I decided to go home and clean and prime. Priming turned out to be a nightmare. First time using the gun and also mixing up the primer. Gun was spitting and therefore left a crappy coat as you can see plus I didn't have any acetone or thinner to clean up so the was lovely. Looks like I will have to sand this stuff down and re-prime it with some warmer weather and also wait for my primer/catalyst reducer to do it's thing (30 minutes).
