These are the real men behind the scenes that keep the project alive. Orval, the one on the floor, an 83 year young WWII vet, retired business owner, and builder of three airplanes using a two by four as a pillow. Larry, the one inside the plane, is a retired firefighter with an A&P license.

Just to prove I was there.

Ok, I got a little explaining to do for the lack of entries since last year. The main reason is that I was busy. During October to January I was busy with school, work, and training for my CFI with Jim Kelly at Executive Flyers. In January, fortunately all that hard CFI work paid off, I passed my check ride. Then came an intense quarter at school. I decided to take four classes in order to catch up for missing a summer session. This many classes with a busy work schedule left no time for the hangar. One of my classes sent me to Panama and Ecuador. Now that the quarter is done and my sickness from the trip is gone I can get back to the RV. Of course another quarter has started but I am only taking two classes.

These pictures are actually a combination of yesterday and today. Between the two days we didn't accomplish a whole lot but that is ok because I had to clean and get my mind back into the game. Larry, Orval, and I finished up some fasteners on the landing gear.

We had to move the piece of metal that holds the wheel pants on. We will if there is toe-in or toe-out later.

Tomorrow we plan to correct the other wheel and attach the brake reservoir to the firewall. And hopefully get some other stuff done too.
